Northamptonshire Care Record hits one million logins
Northamptonshire’s reputation as a leader in digital healthcare has been further strengthened after the Northamptonshire Care Record surpassed one million user logins.
The milestone follows the county being named the most digitally mature health and care system in the country last month, recognising the success of its joined-up approach to technology and patient care.
The Northamptonshire Care Record allows health and care professionals across organisations to securely access shared patient information to support direct care. By improving access to key information, the platform helps clinicians make faster decisions, reduce duplication and deliver more coordinated care for patients.
The growing number of logins highlights how embedded the system has become across primary care, hospitals, community services and social care teams throughout Northamptonshire.
The platform has also continued to expand with several new features introduced in May. EPaCCS care plans — Electronic Palliative Care Coordination Systems — are now available within the record, giving professionals greater visibility of patients’ end-of-life care wishes and planning information. Key contact information has also been added, helping teams quickly identify the right people involved in a patient’s care.
Single sign-on access from Nervecentre has also been introduced, making it easier for frontline staff to access the system as part of their everyday workflow. In addition, login access has now been enabled for Breathing Space, Northamptonshire’s COPD service, supporting more joined-up respiratory care.
Kirstie Watson, Digital Director Northamptonshire ICB, said: “Reaching one million logins is a fantastic achievement and something the whole team should be incredibly proud of. It reflects the hard work and collaboration across organisations to create a system that genuinely supports frontline staff and improves care for patients.
“The Northamptonshire Care Record is helping professionals access the information they need quickly and securely, which ultimately means patients receive safer, more connected and more efficient care. It’s exciting to see the system continuing to evolve and support even more services across the county.”
The continued growth of the Northamptonshire Care Record reflects Northamptonshire’s ongoing commitment to digital innovation that improves collaboration between services and delivers better outcomes for residents.
