In celebration of LGBTQ+ History Month we are delighted to be joined by Tim Couchman and Bellinda (Belle) Cotton for this session entitled Embracing and Celebrating Our Uniqueness.
This session is about embracing everyone’s uniqueness to develop a more inclusive culture. Promoting inclusion is more than just tolerating differences, it’s about creating an environment that welcomes everyone’s uniqueness.
About Tim Couchman
Tim is the professional lead for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust and currently works as a programme manager, delivering the Leading Inclusively with Cultural Intelligence programme to 300+ leaders in the organisation.
Following a career in business management for a German multi-national organisation, Tim trained and was ordained as a minister of religion and has served in hospital chaplaincy for 16 years.
Tim says that good chaplaincy is about fairness and respect and, as a person who is passionate about fairness and justice, he believes there has been a logical progression from chaplaincy to his current Head of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion role.
In his spare time, Tim enjoys attending his local gym, travelling and good food and wine.
About Belle Cotton
Belle has worked in local government for 36 years and is currently the Data Protection Officer with West Northamptonshire Council.
She has been an active member of the LGBTQ+ community for a number of years and currently runs, helps administer or actively participates in a variety of local and national transgender and LGBTQ+ support groups. She is also an advocate for trans rights and healthcare.
Belle completed her own social and professional transition in 2020 and says she now spends “as much time as I can helping others navigate the minefield that is affectionately known as workplace transitioning”.
